Dr. Bourgeault is pleased to mentor postdoctoral fellows linking them to the various research networks she leads and participates in. The following are recent postdoctoral fellows who have worked with Dr. Bourgeault.
Dr. Bourgeault is affiliated with the interdisciplinary Population Health doctoral program at the University of Ottawa. This is largely where she is able to directly supervise doctoral students.
Dr. Bourgeault is the University of Ottawa site lead for the OTC program http://www.otc-hsr.ca/, a diploma program offered at six Ontario universities (McMaster, University of Toronto, York University, Laurentian University and Lakehead University) that can be taken concurrently with a participating Master's or Doctoral program. In addition to being able to take courses across all six sites, OTC students also participate in a summer institute and a 200 hour policy practicum.
Affiliated with the OTC program is the EXTRA fellowship program, which aims to provide health system managers with the skills to increase the utilization of research knowledge in their day-to-day work, as a way to increase evidence-informed decision-making in the health system [http://www.otc-hsr.ca/]. Largely through the MOHLTC funded research networks that Dr. Bourgeault leads, she has supervised the following OTC practicum and EXTRA fellows:
Dr. Bourgeault is also the University of Ottawa site lead for the PHIRNET strategic training initiative in health research funded by the CIHR. PHIRNET provides financial support to doctoral and postdoctoral fellows conducting population health intervention research and hosts an annual summer institute. Students advised by Dr. Bourgeault are eligible to apply for these funding initiatives.
Dr. Bourgeault supervises undergraduate research projects in the Bachelor of Health Sciences program (HSS 4900) in either the fall or winter term.
