  • Project Title: Maternity care decisions made by late childhood, adolescent, and early adulthood cancer survivors. 01-04/12
  • Project Description: This research seeks to examine patterns of CAM use amongst cancer survivors during pregnancy, and illuminate existing trends. Of particular interest are the forms of CAM used and why. Ultimately, the study will contribute to a knowledge base from which health care professionals can draw to deliver more individualized care to survivors.

  • Project Title: Source Country Perspectives on the Migration of Health Personnel (SCoP-MoHP): The Case of India. 01-04/11
  • Project Description: The SCoP-MoHP study seeks to examine:
  • the present picture of, and recent historic trends in the migration of highly skilled health personnel in India;
  • the most critical consequences, according to those ‘on the ground’ in India, of the migration of highly skilled health workers that should be examined and how these consequences could be ‘measured’ to optimize the potential for comparative policy analyses; and
  • the range of program and policy responses that have been considered, proposed and implemented to address these critical causes and consequences of health worker migration from India to high-income countries, and the outcomes of these responses.

  • Project Description: This research focused on the international migration of health care workers from developing to developed countries, looking specifically at trends in Malawi and Canada. In particular, it assessed the viability of increased medical school enrolment in both developed and developing countries to address health human resource shortages.
